Barnaby is a cardiac surgeon — which means he already knows a thing or two about keeping a room alive. Outside the operating theatre, he is an accomplished cook and a committed guitarist, with the kind of instinct for detail and atmosphere that tends to follow people who take craft seriously in every form it takes. Side B is, in some ways, a natural extension of that same impulse: building a space where everything is considered, nothing feels accidental, and the people in the room leave better than they arrived.

Ben has spent his career in private equity, which gave him a sharp eye for recognising something worth believing in. What draws him to Side B isn't the numbers — it's the conviction that the best places to spend time are becoming harder to find, and that someone should do something about it. A devoted follower of good music across every genre and era, he believes that a room where people leave happier than they walked in is one of the more worthwhile things you can build.

Co-founder

Didier has spent decades building and leading technology companies as CEO and Chairman. But ask him what he is really into, and the answer comes without hesitation: boats, guitars, and the double bass. He brings to Side B a lifetime of understanding how to create something from nothing — combined with a musician's instinct for atmosphere, timing, and what makes a room feel right. The boardroom, it turns out, was always preparation for something more interesting.
